South Coast Divide and Amalgamate
Currently division and amalgamation of Sets occurs at Wollongong at a low frequency and during off-peak times.
Use of division and amalgamation at higher frequencies provides an opportunity to make more effective use of train assets by:
- Using single Sets for low passenger use train services; and
- Providing additional local services by the division and amalgamation of 8 car OSCar trains.
